Apple's Chinese suppliers to restart production on February 10

Chinese Suppliers

It seems that the situation of the Coronavirus epidemic is beginning to be controlled. At least that can be deduced by looking at the intentions of Chinese manufacturers who hope to resume normal production from February 10.

It is surely great news for the company and its shareholders. But for us, what really matters to us is that this is an indication that the Coronavirus epidemic that has infected more than 20.000 people and almost 500 of them have died seems to be beginning to be controlled. That is really great news.

Apple's suppliers that have their production plants in China, including Foxconn, are already in the early stages of restarting activity at their factories, hoping to resume production on February 10.

Foxconn announced today that they plan to restart production on February 10. Quanta, LG Display and Inventec will too, in order to supply the components Foxconn needs to assemble Apple devices.

If these forecasts are met, Apple's supply of finished products would continue uninterrupted. The thing would be ruined if the Chinese government again extends the holidays for the New Year and it would force companies to remain closed.

The government informed companies with plants in Suzhou that they would be closed until February 8. Those of Shanghai, until the 9th, and those of Dong Guan, until the 10th.

Foxconn points out verbatim that production has so far suffered "a fairly small impact", thanks to being able to continue manufacturing in other areas without affecting the epidemic, as in India, Mexico and Vietnam. This same manufacturer also indicates that it will compensate for the delays in the expected delivery times by doing overtime at its affected plants as soon as they resume production.
