When we thought that Apple had put on the table all the products planned for this 2018, it surprises us with a new accessory for Apple Watch. In this case, although we have no news of the AirPower, it surprises us with a wireless charging base to charge our Apple Watch.
On this occasion, the Apple product launched has not shown much interest among users, who do not find much sense in the launch of a new charging base similar to the current one and offers the same benefits. The difference is found in the design, so you can choose the one you like the most for each stay.
This new magnetic charging base is on sale at the US Apple Store. The operation is the same than the current base, placing the watch on the base until its battery is charged. Although on the other hand, we find differences with the previous base. The base is bigger. The circular shape of the base, allows you to charge the watch in a horizontal position. Another novelty is found in the central part of the base, which can be lifted to see the clock screen and use it in bedside clock mode.
But if you want to buy the old charging base, run to the nearest store, as Apple is replacing the current reference with MLDW2AM / A numbering for the new version that has the model MU9F2AM / A. In fact, dealers are getting the new model when they need more stock.
Internally we did not find any changes, or that is what it seems, because Apple does not reveal much data. In case of changing any component or feature, this charge should have been reported to the American FCC. On the other hand, this entity is not aware of any change or it is relevant and cannot communicate it in the next 6 months. Therefore, the charging base is 5 watts.
The charging base, until the moment of writing the article, is only available at the US Apple Store at the price of 79$. We hope to find the model on the Spanish website in the next few hours and so far we do not know the price of this accessory.
