It's not clear whether Apple will reopen its China stores on February 10.

Dreidre

Everything suggests that there should be no problem for normality to begin to dominate in China, but recent events suggest that Apple does not see clear that the reopening of its closed stores in China because of the coronavirus can open next February 10.

The head of the company's stores around the world, Deirdre O'Brien, has addressed the employees of these Apple Stores in China to warn them that they are closely following everything that is happening in the country and that It is not clear to this day if the closed stores will finally open next Monday or they'll wait a little longer.

This news directly affects the company's offices throughout the country and the 42 stores that are today closed due to coronavirus. This virus is fully affecting the country and while Apple is discussing the safety of opening stores or not, O'Brien sent a letter to employees to which the AppleInsider media had access:

Team, I want to thank you all very much for the care, flexibility and spirit that you have shown in the last few weeks. Around the world, the entire Apple family is committed to helping our friends, employees, communities, suppliers, partners and customers in China as they take care of their health and return to everyday life.

Apple's support for the global response to coronavirus is broad and ongoing, including our donation to the public health effort. Since my last note, we have been in constant consultation with public health experts, government authorities, and our teams and leaders in China. In light of those conversations, I want to share new information about Apple's workplaces. We are working to reopen Apple's corporate offices and contact centers in China next week.

We recognize that personal movement and travel restrictions are complicating matters, schools remain closed in many places, and managers will work with their teams to offer additional support. You will receive a follow-up communication with more information shortly. Apple's retail stores are actively working to reopen at a date to be determined next week. Additional cleaning, health protocols, and local restrictions around public spaces will be a factor in this decision.

Retail teams will receive updates from their managers on their store opening date and all the information they need. Individual business leaders will contact you soon with more information relevant to their work. In addition to your manager, your People Business Partner and People Support are available to you answering any questions or concerns you may have. To keep up with Apple's efforts, keep checking out the dedicated coronavirus page we've created on the People site.

As we work together to gradually resume work over the next several weeks, your well-being is our first priority. We are deeply grateful to all of you for helping us through this challenging period with the utmost empathy and understanding.

Deirdre

For this reason, we can think that this opening will be progressive and not suddenly as we could think at the beginning and it is possible that in some places the doors are still closed. Apple does not see it clearly and logically this prevents normality from returning in stores as it happens with one of the main suppliers of the Cupertino company in China, Foxconn, which currently had to start production next Monday but at the moment it does not seem that it will be like that  and employees currently have restricted access until further notice, without a specific starting date today.

Let's hope that everything returns to normal as soon as possible but above all that a vaccine for this virus will be found soon.
