This is what the Overcast application could look like on macOS thanks to Marzipan

Overcast for Mac

Since the first rumors related to the Marzipan project appeared, a project that in theory will allow to port the applications available in iOS to macOS In a very simple way, many are the users who are waiting to see when Apple makes the leap and offers this possibility to be able to enjoy their favorite iPhone apps on the Mac.

Yet Apple insists time and again that both operating systems will not converge in no time, and that they will remain completely independent, something most experts doubt, as it is the way to go. Microsoft tried it with the Windows 1 or Mobile platform and Windows 10, but due to the limited success of its mobile platform it had to abandon it.

Overcast for Mac

Developer Steve Troughton-Smith has taken the liberty of creating a Overcast app concept for macOS, previously asked permission from the app developer Marco Arment. This concept shows us, how thanks to the Marzipan project, we could see an application for macOS, very similar to the one we can find on the iPhone, but to which a new column could also be added.

This concept shows us all the functions currently available in the app, including the last function that the application has received and that allows us to quickly create audio or video clips from the application.

Hopefully at the next developer conference, Apple from the starting gun that developers expect to be able to quickly and easily adapt their applications to the macOS ecosystem.

With the number of iOS users around the world, that a developer can create an application that is directly compatible with both iOS and macOS, surely it would not only be a blessing for developers who increasingly bet less on macOS but also would allow the Mac App Store to become a useful store again where you can find applications and not the well where there are all kinds of useless applications.
