AirPort Express, Extreme and Time Capsule receive a security update despite being discontinued

In April of 2018, Apple officially announced that it would stop selling the AirPorts and Time Capsule family of devices once the units you still had in your inventory are used up. This cancellation affected the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and both AirPort Time Capsule models.

That announcement did not come as a surprise to the company's followers, since they had not received a renewal in a long time. Also, two years earlier, Apple had canceled the work team that was in charge of its maintenance and development. Although it shouldn't, Apple continues to worry about the safety of users who relied on this Apple solution.

And I say that I continue to worry about users who trusted the AirPort and Time Capsule range, because the Cupertino-based company has launched a new update for all these devices, specifically firmware version 7.8.1 an update that as we can read in the notes of the same: "improves the security of the base station and is recommended for all Apple products with the 802.11n protocol."

AirPort

Users who continue to trust the solution they Apple launched in 2007, they can update these devices through the AirPort Utility app available on both the Mac App Store and the App Store.

When Apple announced that it was stopping selling this range of products, and recommended to users who have the need to send the signal in large spaces mesh networks, putting its website up for sale on Linkys Velop, a mesh type router that can be found both in physical stores and in the online store.

The Linkys Velop system is available in packs of 1, 2 or 3 nodes and is priced at € 159,95, € 279,95 and € 389,95 respectively. If we don't need any signal repeater, we can choose to buy only the Linkys Velop router for 89,95 euros.

Do you know if time capsule can be used as a neutral router for current fiber operators? It would be good for me to know so as not to change the operator because it is not my budget to change the router ...
    Thanks in advance
