That in Cupertino they are almost obsessed with being able to help improve the health of their clients, it is nothing new. Devices like the Apple Watch, the iPhone and even the latest AirPods increasingly incorporate more sensors dedicated to collecting data from our body that can help us improve our health.
And so later be able to control said data in the Health app of our iPhone. By the way, this app is only present on the iPhone. No trace of it on the iPad, nor on the Mac. But this may change soon...
Apple has just closed a collaboration agreement with Epic System, (a leading American company in the treatment of medical data), to develop an application for macOS that manages the health records of Apple users.
In Cupertino they have been behind Epic for a long time to develop said application, but the medical platform was not entirely clear, since it argued that the security could not be guaranteed. Privacy of the data one hundred percent.
Epic Systems owns the largest platform for electronic medical records in the United States, with approximately half of the medical records of the entire population of the country. Said data is stored by Epic Systems on its servers with its own registration and management platform.
Taking into account the obsession that the two companies have associated with the issue of security in the treatment of their users' data, it will certainly not be easy for them to develop software together that meets the demands of fullfilment of security requirements y Privacy of the two parties.
So we are convinced that it will be a while before we see the red heart icon on a white background on our Macs. But at least, we already know that they are working on it.
