Apple cancels plans to open an Apple Store in Israel

About a year ago, various rumors pointed to the possibility that the company open an Apple Store in Israel. Since then, we had not heard from this possibility again, a possibility that has finally been canceled, since Apple has not managed to reach an agreement with the owners of the premises.

This new Apple Store would be located in the Azrieli Sarona Tower skyscraper, in Tel Aviv, since it is one of the most attractive shopping centers in the city, so the flow of people is assured. In addition, it is located in one of the areas with the highest purchasing power in the city. Apparently, the company that owns the premises does not want to go through the Apple ring.

Among the conditions that Apple usually requires we find a free rental period, which can last up to a year. Another of the conditions that landlords must accept is contribute to inventory costs in addition to taking care of marketing carried out by the company, something that also happens with some telephony operators in Japan and that has caused the occasional problem with the country's authorities.

Azrieli Group, owner of the premises that Apple intended to rent, has declined the offer, according to various Israeli media, because did not accept Apple's economic conditions. This has forced Tim Cook's company to cancel expansion plans in the country.

Apple has demonstrated in recent years its toughness when negotiating agreements. Instead of modifying some of his demands, he decides to cut his losses and cancel the project. The same thing happened in Sueca, when the Stockholm city council canceled its proposal. Apple, instead of looking for an alternative location, decided to cut its losses and abandon the project.

It is probable that now that Angela Ahrendts has left the company, Apple lower your pretensions and demands a bit, or maybe you are not so stubborn and consider the option to modify, at least partially, some of the terms and requirements when looking for new locations for your stores.
