Apple updates BootCamp for different Mac models

Bootcamp-Windows8

Apple just updated the version of Bootcamp to 5.1 but in two different versions that basically differ from the teams to which they are directed.

The first version would come with build 5.1.5621 and it would focus mainly on all those previous teams that appeared at the end of 2013, on the other hand a second version has been published with build 5.1.5640, which is intended for the rest of the teams from the end of 2013 onwards.

Instructions for downloading and correct installation can be found in the Apple official page. The download file is a .zip file so we will double click to unzip it, if it doesn't unzip automatically.

  • Double click on the Boot Camp5 folder.
  • Copy the entire contents of the zip file to the root of a USB flash drive or a hard drive formatted with the FAT file system
  • When running Windows, find the Boot Camp folder on the USB media that you created in step 3 and double-click to open it.
  • Double-click setup to start the BootCamp software installation.
  • When prompted to allow the changes, click Yes and follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Installation may take a few minutes. Do not interrupt the installation process. When the installation is complete, click Finish in the dialog that appears.
  • A system reboot dialog appears. Click Yes to complete the installation.

With these simple instructions, we can already have the latest version installed that, according to what I have been testing, seems to solve the problem of automatic brightness in Windows. plus other minor fixes.
