Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola to reunite in Apple's first movie

Bill Murray

We have been talking for a little over a year about the different agreements that Apple is reaching to create content for its new streaming video service, a service that in theory should see the light of day this year. But it will not only focus its content on series.

Apparently, Apple has already closed an agreement to make its first film, a film that will star Bill Murray, an actor who has known how to adapt to the times and He has proven to be an excellent actor in both drama and comedy, something very few can say.

Bill Murray to star opposite Rashida Jones in film On The Rock. According to Variety publication, the film shows us the life of a young mother who is reunited with her father, a father who has become a playboy in New York City. The role, at first, seems perfect for Murray.

Apple has reached an agreement to create this movie, a film to be directed by Sofia Coppola, who has been in charge of both the script and production alongside Youree Henley. This would not be Murray and Coppola's first collaboration. They both worked together on the acclaimed film Lost in Translation. Production on Apple's first foray into film will begin next month in New York City.

Apple has begun to focus its efforts on creating original content to try to compete with both Netflix and HBO and Amazon, who in turn are investing a lot of money in the creation of original content both in series and in movies, movies that are becoming more and more popular with the public and that we can comfortably enjoy from the sofa at home.
