Bye, bye. Apple patents connectors to use conventional straps on Apple Watch

One of the first things many users thought of when they saw the straps of the Apple Watch that Apple introduced for the first time, was that they were going to have a high price depending on the model and that surely other manufacturers would take other options.

In previous articles we have been able to present concepts from other manufacturers that make it possible to use conventional straps on the Apple Watch. Many of them had even already started to make their projects come true. We now know that Apple He had already filed a patent in this regard and has it granted.

After the approval of this new patent, Apple takes over the possibility that conventional straps can be adjusted to the body of the Apple Watch. In said patent it has been possible to observe an adapter that has the three contacts that would fit perfectly on the watch body.

In the case of the original Apple straps we could add that the connectors they have fit perfectly in the body of the watch since both the hole where they fit and the connectors themselves have been cut with great precision by CNC (computerized numerical control).

Now, is it that Apple wants to restrict the use of straps? Rather, we believe that with the patents that Apple is awarding, what it has in mind is to launch a program made for and get a share of the millions of adapters used by third-party manufacturers.

We will have to be attentive to those third-party manufacturers to find out whether or not they can finally market the adapters to be able to make use of conventional straps.
