What does the Apple Watch warranty cover?

Yesterday we talked about the warranty time of the Apple Watch and today we want to highlight what is the coverage and what is not covered by the Apple warranty. In this case, the first thing we have to highlight is that depending on the country the guarantee time of a product may vary, so if you are within the European Union, your Apple Watch has a two-year official warranty.

If the watch is new and we just bought it at our nearest Apple store or through the official website, we have a period of 15 days to return the product if we are not satisfied with the purchase. In any case, we are going to see the coverage that comes under warranty for the Apple Watch.

To begin with, we have to clarify that any guarantee covers the factory defects of the product from the moment it leaves the store. The guarantee offered by Apple in Spain or the rest of the EU countries adds to the rights of the consumer defense law. Having clarified this, we go with the official guarantee coverage.

Damages covered under warranty

  • Screen pixel abnormalities or similar screen failures
  • Repair of the bottom cover if there is no evidence that an attempt was made to open the device
  • Condensation on the lower sensors used to measure heart rate
  • The battery has a factory defect that prevents charging of the same or similar

Damages out of warranty

  • Apple Watch is outside of the eligible warranty period or consumer law coverage period past the 2-year time in the EU
  • The Apple Watch has a problem that is not covered by the warranty or consumer protection law, such as accidental damage (breakage, bump, etc.) or caused by modifications not authorized by the brand

In any case, Apple watches now in the Series 2 version add water resistance: The Apple Watch Series 2 has a water resistance rating of 50 meters certified by the ISO 22810: 2010 standard. This is why it can be used for shallow water activities, such as swimming in a pool or in the sea. It can also be worn in the shower or bath. However, it should not be used for diving, waterskiing, or activities involving high-speed water impacts or deep dives. On the other hand, the Apple Watch Series 1 and the Apple Watch (1st generation) resist water and splashes, but submerging them is not recommended.

I have found, well I have been affected by a failure of the Apple Watch that is produced by the use of this device, I have a 1st generation Apple Watch and it turns out that with the use of the touch screen it is detaching from the housing in less than 1 year and a half of use, as is the case that has happened to me ... that is, these watches have a manufacturing problem and that is that their touch screen should not be made to withstand the use of the touches of their touch screen in an average period of time. I have broken and I have taken care of it like gold on a cloth ... the screen comes off ... Apple should investigate it ... since it is a problem with your device.
