I have waited for this generation for a long time. Specifically since the summer of 2015. I already told you that I loved the design and concept of the Apple smartwatch from the moment I saw it, presented for the first time in the keynote of September 2014, not to reach us until 6 months later. Now we have seen and known the model that replaces it and that comes to try to take over the market, but it does not convince me. The Apple Watch Series 2 is better than the original, logically, and it comes with very interesting news, but I can only say that I expected very little and even so they have managed to disappoint me.
What are the negatives, changes not made, and items I think the Apple Watch Series 2 is missing? Find out below. You will see that maybe this generation is not so recommended as commented.
The Apple Watch with a new hat
This subtitle is a bit sarcastic and refers to that scene from The Simpsons in which Lisa defends that a doll is the same as all the others. They had simply exchanged his hat for a slightly larger and pink one. It hurts me to say it of a product of my dear bitten apple, and more of the smart watch, but I have the feeling that this year we have seen the same watch with a couple of new details.
Before going on to talk about the things that have bothered me or the disappointments that I have suffered, it would be better to comment a little above the news that it brings. As you can see, they are very specific elements that not all users would use:
- Same design. Same dimensions and everything practically the same. They will have included new colors on the straps, the new Edition model and the Nike edition, but this Apple Watch is the same as before.
- GPS, which comes in handy and many users love it. It had been waiting a long time.
- More power thanks to its dual-core chip.
- Water resistance up to 50 meters. It's not just splashing, it really is aquatic. Take it to the beach or the pool. It will measure the exercise you do while swimming and all this with greater precision and it will not break.
- Brighter than ever. More than double the previous generation.
And a little more. It really doesn't have much more news. We are seeing significant changes when it comes to software, thanks to the optimization and continuous improvement of WatchOS.
What disappointed me about this Apple Watch?
I will explain it and name it by points, as with the news. This will serve as a comparison and will be better outlined. This is my opinion and other users may think something totally different:
- Same design. Yes, it is a feature that I do not like at all. You can see that I have said it before with some resentment. I didn't expect it to be round or any nonsense of that sort, but at least a little thinner or something new. But it is exactly the same. Visually the same as we saw 2 years ago.
- More storage? We know nothing about this. The apps are now native and I would surely want to store music on it, downloaded to listen to it without an internet connection. I was disappointed that they did not increase storage and even more so that they have omitted to talk about it.
- It has more battery, yes, but as I said in an article today, at the level of daily use we will not notice it, since everything is consumed in the extra brightness, the GPS and other functions.
- The lack of news or changes. It is that it is a generation S of the previous one. What changes is the operating system, not the hardware, and the Apple Watch 1 also updates and works perfectly.
- Finally the price. I have commented on it a lot, for the news that they include I do not understand why they have raised € 100 more than before. It is true that it had been lowered previously, but I did not expect it to be raised again. If it cost as before, maybe I would have bought it and would be talking about how good it is, instead of criticizing its few novelties.

If then rather that you get used to the same design, xk I think we have the same model until the end of time, like the ipad, to see when they remove the thick frames at once.
The iPad started out with a totally symmetrical frame that was quite large. But it made sense, and it was very comfortable to hold it with one hand. The Air and Air 2 reduced the margin, especially on the sides, and since it weighs less it can continue to be held with one hand without problem. I like the way it is right now and I don't dislike it. (Long live the iPads! /._./)
And with regard to the clock, what I hope is not that it changes shape or anything like that. Same product but a little finer, perhaps with less margin since this one you are not going to take, you carry it in your hand etc ... Something. It is that right now it gives me the feeling that it is very thick and that between one generation and another nothing has changed.
