Well, it's been about nine months since I "retired" my old Apple Watch Series 0 / original to move to speed in all aspects of the new Apple Series 4 smartwatch model. some interesting conclusions on the use that in my case I have made of the watch.
Obviously this does not mean that everyone has to do the same as me, but it is true that many people ask me whether to buy the model that has Cellular connectivity or not and I want to answer that with this opinion piece.
For those who want iPhone freedom without disconnecting
This little headline describes my answer clearly and it is that it goes without saying that the clock with this connectivity (whether it is the Series 3 or the Series 4) allows us to leave the iPhone at home when we go out for a run, to buy something while we are in the gym or even in the comfort of our home. Having an Apple Watch with connectivity means that we do not really disconnect when we perform these activities or others even if we do not carry the iPhone on us. This also offers us a security point in case anything happens to us be able to call without problem at any time to anyone.
Another different thing are the incoming calls whether or not we want to answer these calls, messages or the like. In this case we have the option of not answering. In any case, having the option or not having it implies an extra cost of about 100 euros (in Apple stores) for the purchase of the LTE model and this we also have to bear in mind.
My personal opinion is that whenever you can choose all the superior options, it happens to me with cars or with the rest of the products that I buy on a personal level. In the case of not being able or directly not wanting to be "connected" at all times, it is best to opt for the model without Cellular connection, since in this way it will depend on the iPhone which we can call in any situation. In addition, the cost of activating the eSIM or even the rates that are applied in some operators depending on the plan that we have contracted must be taken into account. In short, we can say that it is something very personal and everyone is free to choose one model or another, what is clear is that it is better to have the option than not to have it. Personally, if I had to buy another Apple Watch it would be with LTE connectivity to be able to leave the iPhone or not have the trouble if I go out for a moment for any reason and leave it at home.
