MacBook Pro M1 Max confirmed to be best for photographers

MacBook Pro is best for photographers

When the new Macs with M1 were launched on the market, the power they were giving was enormous. In fact, those new MacBook Pros were giving better results than the Mac Pros and of course much better than the best Intel. At that time it was being implied that the new M1 chips were the best a computer could have. Many companies started using these Macs and their yields went up. Now it's time to confirm one of the sectors that most need power on Macs. The photographers.

When you say that the new Macs with M1 are the best in case of photography sessions, nothing better than backing them up with evidence. If you are a fan of photography, you will know that the camera that precedes these words is something out of the ordinary. It is probably the best camera you can find in stores. The best in its segment because it is not for all photographers, far from it. If you do commercial or studio portrait photography or even quiet landscape, the Phase One XFIQ4 It is the best of the best and the most demanding.

CNET Senior Photographer Andrew Hoyle reported on his experience working with the Phase One medium format camera attached to a MacBook Pro running M1 Max with 64GB unified memory. Keep in mind that it is a camera capable of capturing 150 MPx images. For the test, what he did to further adjust the test and make it even more demanding, was to capture several images and then join them all into one. That generated a final 11 GB. It doesn't stay here. He compared it to a Mac M1 and to an Intel i9. The results speak for themselves:

  • 1-inch MacBook Pro M16 Max with 64GB Unified Memory (2021) 4 minutes y 36 seconds
  • MacBook Pro M1 13-inch (2020) 6 minutes y 39 seconds
  • 9-inch MacBook Pro Intel Core i16 (2019). Time of 16 minutes y 36 seconds

There is no more to say…
