We continue to investigate the specifications of the new product presented by those from Cupertino, the Watch Apple. In this article we are going to show you the three categories in which they will be supplied and what differences exist between each of them. We have various types of materials, a large assortment of "interchangeable" straps as well as various finishes for the main shell.
What we have to be clear about is that Apple has had some kind of problem in the production of this device, since we are still going to have to wait until early 2015 to get our hands on it. Within the specifications that we have to take into account, we can highlight that two different types of crystals will be mounted on its surface be it the Basic or Edition category or, on the contrary, the much lighter category, Sport.
If one thing characterizes the Apple Watch, it is its design and exquisite construction materials. We are talking about the fact that in the highest range we even have the manufacture of the case with a layer of 18-dilated gold, either in yellow or rose gold. As for the crystals used for the screen, we can say that two different classes will be assembled. One type will be the sapphire crystal that Apple can already manufacture in its crystal manufacturing centers and on the other hand, the one dubbed Ion-X glass, molecularly reinforced and lighter. For the back, where the biometric sensors are located, ceramic and composite have been used.
In the Apple Watch Sport series, no sapphire crystal has been used to make them lighter. For this they have used a shock and scratch resistant aluminum silicate glass. It is strengthened at the molecular level by ion exchange. In this process, smaller ions are replaced by larger ones to create a much harder surface layer than standard glass.
Regarding the models that have been presented, we can distinguish three categories:
- Basic Apple Watch, with higher quality belts and made of steel alloys with different finishes.
- Apple Watch Sport, with silicone straps and aluminum body to avoid problems with sweat.
- Apple Watch Edition, coated in 18-karat yellow or rose gold.
As you can see, you have many configuration possibilities. The first thing you have to be clear about is the size, 38mm or 42mm. Then the finish you want, whether it's silver stainless steel, space black stainless steel, aluminum, space gray aluminum, yellow gold or 18 karat rose gold. Finally you must choose the strap you want to mount. It remains to be seen if the straps can be purchased separately to be able to modify the appearance of your Apple Watch in a very simple way without having to buy new machinery.
