Why opt for the Apple Watch Series 2 and not 1?

Before starting to give arguments and reasons for my purchase decision and what I advise you, I want to say something. The Apple Watch is an expensive device by nature. You will not find a pure and unique utility unless you give a lot of use to what are the apps and the training and sport functions. At that level it is a very good and spectacular wearable, although there are better and cheaper options on the market. I come to talk exclusively about the differences between the two series and why you should opt for the second and not the first based on these reasons. Then it is a matter of tastes, uses, budget and more.

Perhaps the most advisable thing would be not to buy it, but I do not come to talk about that. We start from the idea that we want to buy it and we are convinced. That we do not care about the price, or at least not the base price, and we want to choose one or the other. Here we go with this article.

5 reasons to buy the Apple Watch Series 2

I narrow the subtitle once more. Reasons to buy it over the Series 1, not to buy it in general. What does it have or what benefit or advantage will it bring that the other does not? Here we go. Now yes, the news and reasons that I give you are the following:

  • A leap in innovation and the supposed generation 2. This is the generation we have been waiting for. These are the changes that users wanted so much and that so many asked for. For what we have fought, for freedom and for Sparta. Well, not for that, but also.
  • GPS. It seems silly but those who play sports, go running, etc., missed it. Many say “I don't care if it's aquatic or not, but I want GPS. It is very good to have it on the watch and for future versions of WatchOS, it will be good for us.
  • A brighter screen. I thought it would be only at certain times or for some functions, but no. It is always. The difference is noticeable, I did a comparison in the store and it shows a lot.
  • Water. Submersible 50 meters in water. The other is sturdy and you can shower with it, they say, but the Series 2 is unbreakable, or so they claim. Just in case, it pays to spend € 100 on it and not worry about taking it off at any time. Let nothing stop you.
  • It's the new one. Is that buying the other is being left behind. The same power, but less performance. For € 100 more it's worth it, I think. That is why I did it. It is an expensive whim, you are not minding yourself. You also have much more ranges and models to choose from, as I already explained. I love Hermes, but I can't afford it, of course.

Make the leap from the first Apple Watch to Series 2?

A great stupidity, without a doubt. It seems to me the same nonsense as making the jump from iPhone 6s to 7. From Monday to Tuesday there is little difference. And it is practically the same. I don't think you will notice the change because the notable novelties are the GPS and the ability to be aquatic and double the brightness. If you are going to practice swimming at a professional or very advanced level, maybe yes, but in normal use I do not see the point of taking a leap between neighboring generations.

Perhaps with future versions of the operating system you will notice the difference, but then there will be other products on the market that are more advisable or cheaper, come on, I say. And is that Apple is working on more than just the Apple Watch. Some reports and rumors assure that we would see wearables of different types in the near future. They probably want to make bracelets and gauges other than watches, more affordable or exclusively for athletes. Who knows,

Apple is keeping its plans under wraps for now. But I don't think it will take long to show something new if it does. Mind you, don't expect an Apple Watch Series 3 for at least a year and a half or two.
