Now, a new rumor suggests that the company is redesigning the Apple Watch with a flat-edge design similar to its other recent hardware updates, as well as launching a new green color.
The rumor comes from well-known leaker Jon Prosser, who very subtly revealed the information in an episode of his "Genius Bar with Sam Kohl" podcast.
He dropped that this year's next Apple Watch will feature a design of flat edge similar to the iPhone 12, iPad Pro and the new iPad Air. Kohl and Prosser describe the Apple Watch version of this design as "more subtle" than the more "aggressive" flat edge of the devices mentioned above.
They also commented that the Apple Watch Series 7 will come with a new option to green for the first time, similar to the green of the AirPods Max.
If the design of the Apple Watch case is actually modified with new flat sides, that will necessarily lead to new straps so that they fit correctly with the new casing.
