Apple could be considering reaching an agreement with the Taiwanese company PlayNitride, producer of MicroLed screens for the manufacture of screens. This product fits the physiognomy of the Apple Watch. We know the news from Digitimes. The magazine would have obtained the information from the blog dedicated exclusively to this MicroLED technology.

PlayNitride is known for having developed its own MicroLED technology displays. It is not the first time that a technology giant has approached the company to close an agreement in the production of the screens. Samsung was in negotiations at the beginning of 2017, without closing any agreement for the production of screens.

On this occasion, Everything seems to indicate that the agreements between Apple and the company are more advanced. Rumors indicate that PlayNitride would be in conversation with the Taiwanese government, and they would even have permission to establish a huge facility in the Hsinchu Science Park, located in northern Taiwan.

MicroLED technology would replace the current OLED, present in the Apple Watch and the recently released iPhone X. MicroLed technology shares with current screens the precision in the accuracy of the colors, the contrast and fast response times, true blacks. But in his favor, heMicroLed technology enables thinner and much brighter displays, as well as more energy efficient.

It is not the first time that Apple is in negotiations with the company, as a supplier of screens for its computers. In 2015 they had a first contact. when the company invested significant amounts in research in Taoyuan City. Since then Apple is evaluating production with current suppliers, or entrusting the manufacture of screens for a product with the company, based on the quality of its screens.

In fact, Bloomberg reported on the Apple's development on American soil, where it would be researching the design and even testing the mass manufacturing of MicroLed displays. In this case, it would count on the manufacturer TSMC to develop its own screens.
