With this application you can open winmail.dat files on the Mac

If you usually spend many hours in front of a computer, it is likely that on more than one occasion you have encountered attachments named winmail.dat. This file type contains format information for messages that use Microsoft's proprietary TNEF format but is not recognized by most mail clients.

This problem causes if files are attached to that email, they are not available independently, they are found within the winmail.dat file. If you try to open this file with any other application, you will see that it is not possible unless you have an application installed that allows it, as is the case with Winmail.dat Opener

Winmail.dat Opener is a very simple application that allows us quickly check what type of content is inside this file. In addition, it also allows us to extract your content without us being forced to request that the email be sent to us again. It also allows us to open files in .msg and .xps, another file format that you may have found in an email attachment in your inbox.

To open these types of files, we just have to drag it into the app or when executing it, select the Winmail.dat Opener application to open it. The application is available for free download, but it only allows us to see what the content is stored in the file, it does not allow us to extract it at any time, unless we make use of the different in-app purchases that it offers us .

Unlocking all functions is priced at 16,99 euros. If we want to open only winmail.dat files, the price is 7,99 euros, the same price if we also want to be able to open files in XPS or MSG format. Winmail.dat requires OS X 10.11 and a 64-bit processor to work.
