Apple defends itself against the fine imposed by the EU of 13.000 million euros

Ireland tax

This is the figure that the European Union asks the technology giant for the alleged undue tax advantages for several years and although Ireland supports the fight of the company created by Steve Jobs, the EU is still in its thirteen and wants this huge amount of money paid as a fine.

13.000 million euros (which would be slightly more than 14.300 million dollars) it is a lot of money even for a company as strong as Apple and therefore the representative of the firm from Cupertino Daniel Beard, stands before the General Court of the European Union, in Luxembourg.

Beard's words, in light of what happened with the EU in this sense are very clear:

Has Apple designed and developed the iPhone in Ireland? The iPad or the iPod? Do not! The answer is written on every Apple product: 'Designed by Apple in California'. Apple pays its taxes and understands the importance of doing so. We think that Apple is the largest taxpayer in the world and we believe that the Commission's decision needs to be overturned.

Dublin also appealed the decision of the European Commission and rejects that it is presented as a tax haven, so all fronts are open in this Solomonic decision. This fine imposed on Apple may be the prelude to many other technology and non-technology companies that are based in Ireland and is that as we all already know the laws of that country in terms of taxation are usually beneficial for them. In Apple they already have all this figure set aside and blocked while the judicial process continues its course. While this happens, the shares of the company remain stable above 217 points, we will see how this soap opera ends ...
